Well kids ,had a strange day today .Its all started July 22nd tuned into The Drew & Mike show .When Drew said,"Hey , there's a naked picture of screamin scott on E-Bay!
After spitting out my breakfest of corn Flakes everywhere....producer Mark said,"Well..he's not naked , but he has a Pancake on his head! Guess Drew & Mike interview was with the guy who makes portraits.(but what's with the Pancake?)

LONG GONE ! SO WHAT NOW ?

Gone but not forgotten is one great ball park.Childhood memories back to even
my first Football game vs. the Packers on Turkey Day. I think we lost back then
too.From my days of watching Norm Cash ,Mark The Bird, till the later stars
of the 90's.Concerts too. The EAGLES, ROD STEWART,ELTON JOHN,KISS,ALICE IN CHAINS,and even Detroit's own SPONGE.Countless Openning Day's with the RIFF
WOW, I could go on-and -on....

But what now? as we look at a pile of rubble that could have been saved.
Let's see how long it takes for something to happen (my guess is 5-10 years)
There are so many great buildings (Like the Wurlitzer Build.)in detroit that just sit vacant for many many years now.What makes us think The corner of Michigan & Trumble is gonna change anytime soon.
Looking at our own Detroit City Council and what's been going on , Mayor changes
Police CHief changes, I donrt forsee any changes soon. Its a shame too,I kinda felt
we were on a roll for a bit with the Super Bowl,NCAA tourny,Air races,Tigers in the World Series, The LIONS ......er The LIons..........well skip that,This is the year
will start it up in the Fall...worst to First? .......
I just wished we really would have a concrete plan for the future before
we just wreck and wait.I'm just like the rest of you....waitting.......so
come'on Detroit Let's Do something........anything!

When I lived in Indiana for a little time starting my radio career . The Buzz was this local artist 80's pop singer Henry Lee Summer.... well he was arrested on Tuesday in Indianapolis for obstruction of justice and resisting arrest!

Summer, known for his Top 20 hit from 1986, I Wish I Had a Girl (Who Walked Like That), was pulled over by police for not using his turn signal. Before coming to a complete stop, cops saw Summer chuck his drugs out the car window!

So smart!

The meth-head was so off his rocker that police had to pepper spray that bitch to get him to calm down!

Summer was released from jail on Wednesday and is awaiting his May 12th trial.

' FELLOW BARTENDER NEEDS OUR HELP"

You Might know Mike DeRidder. He's one of the bartenders at TNT's. Mike need our help.
Mike's house burned down to the ground back on January 30th. He lost everything in the fire, which isn't a big deal to him, as much as the fact that he lost his dog in the fire. It breaks my heart to say this. He was telling me that his dog never wandered into the basement prior, but that's where the firefighters found her. She must have been scared, and that was the only place that she could get to. Again, Mike wasn't as bummed about losing everything as much as he was broken up about see the firefighters carry his dog out, which he saw. Really sad.

The crew at TNT's has put together a benefit for Mike. Its happening this Sunday at TNT's (15 and Harper, of course). Doors are at 4PM. Its $10 to get in, and that includes pizza, salad, munchies and the like. There will be live rock from Overtow, and I'll be spinning before and after the band. In addition, there's going to be a silent auction and 50/50. All proceeds from everything go to Mike.

Mike is currently in school to be a firefighter himself, ironically. Everyone that knows him knows that he would give the shirt off of his back to anyone in need. We gotta support him.

What a weekend to recover from ...my buddy Brandon Calhoon cd release party was at the Magic Bag and He SOLD IT OUT! Its a great cd and of my Favorites!
Concert wize Jan will rap up with out a rest . The 28th SCOTT WEILAND at St Andrews,with a special VIP party I get to host at the MGM stripped down Lounge before the show. The 29th Is The Black KEYS @ the Filmore.30th,The MUGGS at the Magic Bag,and SLIPKNOT rocks The Palace on the 31st! Keep tuned as we have your Ultimate upgrade!
Lots of people are asking if the MIKE IN THE MORNING wake up calls will be posted on the Riff website....good question and I will look into it for all of you.
Here's is the only advice I can give you to keep healthy this winter ...wash your hands alot ,clean your cell phone,eat lots of fresh food and try to get some rest.
I'm telling you this now cuz I didn't and now i'm getting sick and it sucks! Try the fist bump instead of the hand shake and stay away from sick people!
I'm still working thru all this so tune in MON- Fri 12mid-5:30 for Late Night Overnight. on WRIF.

WHAT I DID ON MY WINTER VACATION

Back to work after a great vacation.Kinda of a different one then you would expect.
Wokin hard and playing hard all week. Had the big move to the new ranch and let me say that "I will never want to move in the winter again!Weather played a big part as the elements let me have some space between snow storms and friget temps.Thankxz go out to my real good friends who came thru for me like Cathy aka Mooner, Dave her brother,Sparky...(your the best eh!)Katie,Dawn,Scott,,My Nephew
Craig,SLAYER,Screamin POPs,Dave the Handy Man(thankx for the floors and closets.DougK,For the Dolly,all these people and more came thru big time and got me moved in on time.To the Ms. Kris for all you do everyday and for putting up with me.
Thru the move I still made time for the screamin world bar tour and saw some great
bands and hung out at new bars ..Mug Shots , Pepper Bottoms ( thanks Kelly and your staff)and ole favorites I hung out at TNT's ,The Dawg House,Ritz,Fat Cats,Blue Goose Inn,On The Rocks,The Hideout,Rusty Nail,and many other's I think I was there,Things are still blurry....Augies! cant forget them.....
Had dinner at a great resturant at the New Book Cadillac in Detroit. Its called The Spa 19 24 Grille!Wow This is one place you all have to enjoy a meal at! I can tell you how many Little Ceasers $5 pizza's I ate too.....whew.
My other time is now spent unpacking....its amazing how much stuff you forget you have untill you move. Which to the salvation Army got 12 bags of old clothing and old shoes toys ect...working on my rock room now .Putting it all together just the way I like it.
My thankxz to all my new Neighbors including Chuck who is a wiz with a snow blower.
Cant wait to get back to work ....I know it sounds strange but when you have a job like mine....you do miss it alot.Its the best place to work in the world and what a great family to be with. Friday Night ...I'm gonna catch the CD release Party for BRANDON CALHOON at the MAGIC BAG ...you cant miss this one..it will be a BASH... Till Then ,catch me on air 12am to 5:30 during the week .Cant wait to wake up Mike Clark some more.

" Well , screamin's in the market for a house.Seems everyone is saying
"ITS A BUYERS MARKET" .......well it is sorta,This search started a year
ago, and boy let me tell you...its not as easy as it seems.There is a lot
of %!$@#in hoops to jump thru to get from point A to point B. The house
in my sites is not a bad one ,but a great find,.....just needs alittle work
And when you go to buy a house it seems everyone has their hands on your wallet.
But it hasn't been all bad,My realtor Fran is an Angel and other Helpers
Patti,Eric,Steve and my all around friend Bad TOMMY have been a Godsend.
But here's the Latest road block .......When you buy a House that's been
Unoccupied they Winterize it .....so everything's been shut off. Including
the LOO,Watercloset..the Pooper shed. Well after the Electric was turned on the
other day , I guess the Electric company decided to leave me their calling card
.....a present, they Drop'd the Lions at the Superbowl!

This week is very special to me because I get to take a full beautiful day Off
and spend it with my Father (aka."screamin pop's).He's been my golf partner
ever since I can remember. Not just the Arthur P outtings, but he taught me to play
the game ,the rules,do's and dont's.His year's have caught up to him as his knee's
bang'd up from years of playing Hockey..but somehow always seems to beat me.We would play contests for putting,driving,skins,ect and dammit if that man always would win.
Funny how one time we both went out to a golf course near where we grew up,we shot 18 holes and I won one...somehow it felt strange to beat him at somthing. I felt like i'd one the LOTTO but at the same time felt I had lost somthing too.I must have grown up alittle and that Dad was getting older.
It had seem like it was only yesterday when we had all the time in the world to play basketball or hockey on our driveway at home.
This Friday will be our 10th time at our Arthur P golf outting and cant wait for a full day of Golf.Dont care if we make it into the top 10 best scores for the day ,....to me ,I've already won ,spending the day with my HERO.The guy who save me
from drowning in the back yard pool as an infant,to teaching me to play hockey,baseball,bowling and all other sports we play'd together.The man who was always there when I got in a mess,gave me a good solid foundation for good values
and for just being my buddy.A toast to you my friend and to my Father-in-law
who will joing us for our 3rd year.If your at Devil's Ridge this Friday, make it a point to stop by and i'll introduce you to my Hero Scotty Bob Randall.......

Wow what a trip! 5 Days and 4 nights , Hangin' with Sammy ,Michael Anthony, Jimmy Johnson, Big thankxz to Todd our wrif winner and his family. ABOUT VERONICA........

Once I was introduced to Metal I just fell in love with it.
I loved the power and the energy of it and was encouraged to try singing by my long time friend Craig Goldy.
It took a while before I really got my stride with the whole music thing. But things really changed when I met Pete Wells.
We became close friends and there was just something about his playing that inspired me and still does to this day.
We started writing together and were in a few bands together, Medusa and the Malady.

Night one of the Alive/Worldwide 1996/7 Reunion Tour. Some of this show, very little, has circulated in pro format, and perhaps the "secret society of hoarders" had more. But this is a magical moment in KISStory, warts 'n all.
Only Rock And Roll All Night And Party Everyday Was Included At The VMA's. The Rest of the songs are included....
The "secret society of hoarders" have had Dodger Stadium for a while, so who knows where this is sourced from? At least now, everyone will get to enjoy this special show. Parts were broadcast on TV and the whole thing on radio, but several songs were not performed again during the seemingly aborted Psycho Circus tour...

I know this has been put around alot today but we need to keep this going. We need everyone to step up and help get donations for the raffle that will be held at the benefit. We need guitars that are signed...anything signed...memorabilia..anything of value that you can offer to help Beth,Ron,Brittnee and Jacob out.

Im sorry I haven't gotten back to all of you that have called. I will I promise just keep leaving voice mails and I will return your call most likely tomorrow we are heading to the funeral home shortly.

On Sept. 28th Beth and Ron Ocelnik of CB Entertainment suffered the loss of their 12 year old son Vincent. They were producing a show that night when "Vinnie" decided to take his brothers car for a quick joy ride before his parents would arrive home. He made it only about fifteen houses down before he struck a tree and was rushed to the hospital. His injuries were to extensive and he died shortly after.

A benefit for the family is being held NOVEMBER 3RD, at The Ritz in Warren (where Beth is the booking agent) in his memory. The proceeds will go to the family to help with the costs of the funeral.

I am asking for donations of signed guitars. merch, music memorbilia and anything else of value. Please join in and help us raise some money for the wonderful family. Beth is a large part of the Motor City's music scene. And the loss of their son has hit them hard as you can imagine.

and it was a wake up call for my pets.The "screamin Family " consists
of 1 dog ,and 4 cats. Velma my tabby has judt hit the scale at 15 pounds.
You see,Velma's a smart cat.She tends to eat her food like me at 90m.p.h.
Then she goes and finishes everyone elses food. Daphinie is doing well.
and playing host to a wonderful cat named "ANGEL" who about 20 years old
and is only 3 lbs.With the recent pet food scare its hard to trust any food
So ,have made an appointment with the vet for further study. Casy the dog
is 7years old and still has some PUP in her but showing some gray.If I could
just get Velma on the tred mill with me in the morning!

Thankxz to all at HarleyFest this year . This year was special to me
because after 9 years ,I got to be part of the ride from Motor City Harley
Davidson.Wow It was Wicked Awesome...From the Staff ,Macomb Sherrif Dept,
and all the riders for making me feel welcome on my first ride in a long time.
I haven't rode since I lived in Indiana,and rode an ole BSA Bike which was
a great bike ,but hard to keep up.It was always breaking down.Had to sell the bike to have money to move back home to Michigan and continue in radio in Detroit.
Just a week ago got my CY endorsment took my road test and passed and
got a wonderful bike thankxz to good friend Mark Columbo and my buddy
Mark Bradford(BIFF). White Knuckles or not ,Had a wonderful day ,and
great to see lots of you Riff rockers.A day filled with Friends,fun
and the knoledge of knowing I didn't kill anyone with the bike I was on....
Big Thankxz to My buzzy Jeffery who had the gutz to ride along side of me,and
thankxz to Anne and Meltdown for all the rib's on the "ROOKIE".

6/22 and 6/23 Fri & Sat catch me in Downtown Detroit for "RIVER DAYS"

Yep,I'm a fool,idiot,you name it.....Game #4 The Wings vs.Sharks
and I turn off the Tv with 1 min left in the game and chalk it
up as a tough loss,and went back to work thinking the wings lost
2-1 . Boy was I wrong when Lang tied the game with 33 seconds left
in regulation. Only to have Schneider win the game in overtime!
The Sharks blew it as much as I did. wow did I miss a comeback .
I did have a theroy: when I watch a game and put on somthing RED
the wings record hasn't been good . So maby I helped out by makin
a complete A -of myself. Let me say to the WINGS sorry that I had
a moment of weakness and It wont happen again.And Good luck in
Game #5.

Lawson Deming,who was Detroit TV's Sir Graves Ghastly,this time for real-
passed away at his home in Ohio Tuesday night at the age of 93. 50 years
in Broadcasting ,and as Sir Graves from 1967-83.In this day of cheap production, and now,no real saturday entertainment for kids on saturday.He ran the best Godzilla
movies.Along with some real dry humor,He was a Channel 2 icon. Remember also
on the show "REEL McCoy (the guy that dug up the movies at the start of the show)
The upside mouth with a face painted on it "GLOB" and was funny seeing Sir Graves
in Drag was pretty wierd for a 7 year old like my self but always funny!Most of the time I never watched the films he ran also sent in art work to put up on the "ghastly
wall" but never did see it on tv.Life was different back then ......can you imagine
No internet ,cell phones ,DVD,I-Pods, Heck PONG wasn't even out then....
Just another part of the childhood that is gone and will be missed .This year's
Halloween will sure be different without you.........

NASCAR's Subway Fresh Fit 500. On Friday (April 20), he unveiled two guitars at the track — a custom-made Fender Stratocaster and a limited-edition EVH "Frankenstein" model, which is a duplicate of the guitar he played in VAN HALEN's early days. Eddie was back at the track yesterday (Saturday, April 21) to act as an honorary race official, when he helped greet the drivers as their introduced before the race begins. At the conclusion of the race, the winner was presented with the custom Fender guitar.

Eddie previously said, "I am honored on behalf of EVH Brand guitars, amps, and musical products to be invited to such an exciting and fun event. I feel privileged to be working with such amazing organizations like Phoenix International Raceway, their NASCAR event, and Fender."

A little insite on FAT TUESDAY.

All i know is its alot of extra time on the tred mill!!
The Screamin Scott PACZKI Story started in Warren MI , my childhood home
was off of Masonic on a street called Newcastle.My neighbors were the
Bartolds.John was my best friend . Had to be about 6 or 7 years old when
I noticed on the Bartolds Family Station wagon a bumper sticker "PACZKI"
I asked John and Mrs Bartold about them and they explaned the whole story......... and then in Feb they had them in boxes and boxes.It was 1970 when i had my first "PACZKI" So to my childhood friend and Family "The Bartolds" I say Thank You.This time of year ,it always reminds me of all of you.....and the fun times living in
Warren,MI.

Shrove Tuesday is the term used in the English-speaking countries of the United Kingdo,Ireland, and Australia to refer to the day after Collop Monday and before Ash Wednesday (the liturgical season of Lent begins on Ash Wednesday). In these countries, and amongst Anglicans in Canada, this day is also known as Pancake Day, because it is customary to eat pancakes on this day. In other parts of the world -- for example, in historically-Catholic and French-speaking parts of the United States and elsewhere -- this day is called Mardi Gras, and in areas with large Polish-immigrant populations (for example, Chicago and Detroit) it is known as Paczki Day.

Polish immigrants have popularized this type of preserve-filled doughnut in some parts of the United States, especially in Hamtramck- an enclave of Detroit. Hamtramck is known to be the only U.S. city to organize an annual Paczki-Day (Fat Tuesday) Parade, and lines can be seen up to 24 hours before the deep-fried delights go on sale at the numerous local bakeries. Van Halen Will Tour With Diamond Dave This Summer!

Eddie Van HalenWith Van Halen set to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame on March 12, the band members have decided to bury the hatchet and launch a tour with original frontman David Lee Roth. The tour will mark the first time since 1984 that Roth will perform with Eddie and Alex Van Halen, along with new bassist Wolfgang Van Halen (Eddie's son, who replaces Michael Anthony). The group plans to do 40 shows this summer, and according to its Web site, "Van Halen fans can look forward to legendary high intensity performances, featuring a set list of the most iconic hits ever produced by America's premiere Rock band.""I am very excited to get back to the core of what made Van Halen," stated Eddie Van Halen. The guitarist also told MTV News, "Playing these timeless hits only works with Dave. After one rehearsal, it was pure magic."Meanwhile, Van Halen will be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame during a New York ceremony on March 12, and some reports have said the band might perform at the induction with both Roth and Sammy Hagar. Van Halen enters the Hall along with R.E.M., Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five, Patti Smith and The Ronettes.

TMZ caught up with David Lee Roth in Manhattan last night, and he warned that a potential Van Halen reunion could result in a NASCAR-style wreck. Or a "Jerry Springer"-like brawl. Or even a "Knots Landing"-esque bitchfight!

Rumors continue to swirl that David Lee Roth and Eddie Van Halen will reunite at least one more time in VAN HALEN. Eddie and his brother Alex are prepping for a tour this year, with Eddie's 15-year-old son Wolfgang on bass instead of Michael Anthony, but no singer has been officially announced. Eddie told Guitar World magazine, "I'm telling Dave, 'Dude, get your ass up here and sing, bitch! Come on!'... As it stands right now, the ball is in Dave's court. Whether he wants to rise to the occasion is entirely up to him, but we're ready to go."

As for having his son in the band, Eddie said, "Wolfgang breathes new life into what we're doing. He brings youthfulness to something that's inherently youthful. He's only been playing bass for three months, but it's spooky. He's locked tight and puts an incredible spin on our (stuff). The kid is kicking my ass! He's spanking me now, even though I never spanked him. To have my son follow in my footsteps on his own, without me pushing him into it, is the greatest feeling in the world."

Former VAN HALEN vocalist Sammy Hagar told Cleveland's The Plain Dealer late last month about a possible VAN HALEN/Roth reunion, "Dave and Ed working together? I don't see it in a million years. Dave's gonna want it to be all about him. Ed's gonna want it to be all about him. And that's a tough one right there. I'll probably just be sitting over in the corner, cracking up."

As for Eddie Van Halen's fifteen-year-old son Wolfgang replacing Michael Anthony on bass, Hagar said, "I really have no idea what's going on. Michael and I are friends, which is why he isn't in the band anymore."

Christmas Time Is Here Again. . .

Hey gang ,

Well my favorite time of the year is here and has nothing to do with shopping.Fighting traffic,Road Rage,Lion's Football losses. It all has to do with memories of days gone by.Remember being in school just waitting for "Winter Break",just so you could go and try out a new sled? The Feel of a new snow (and not complaining).Trying to ride your bike in the snow to go over a friends house.Seeing other Family's way of celebrating Christmas.Making Cookies with Mom,Finding a tree with Dad.Helping lick the stamps on all the Christmas cards and feeling sick of the
taste...(like bad oatmeal).Getting a cup of Hot Chocolate after playing outside.
Didn't matter what sport it was ....The home driveway was the Sports arena for everything! A Hockey rink, Winter Basketball court.Football was still on the grass
but better with lot'sa snow. Think back to a time when eatting snow was safe!Taking a night drive to look at Christmas lights.(dont try this) But we use to do somthing called Bumper Hitchin'. A car goes by on a snowy road ,when it passes you .run behind it and you would grab the bumper .Grant it the car was not going too fast.All you had
to worry about is the guy stopping ,or letting go and watching your glove still
stuck to the bumper drive away...lol. I was never good with snowball fights ,No arm .
and i always got hit in the face.Footbal was easy ,we always played "Kill the Guy with The Ball.Remember when Kids would shovel snow from driveways for cash.Nowdays
the Kids wont put down the video games. We use to go Christmas Caroling for Cash ..
We were pretty bad ,but always got a kick out of going to people's houses we hated and singing really LOUD.Going to the MALL to see SANTA,The talking Rudolf Reingdeer
and stopping for lunch at "SANDER'S"for a hot fudge sunday at Oakland and Macomb Mall.Yet There were disapointments.....asking for The new Aerosmith Album and getting The Partridge Family on Christmas Morning. Staying up late one year for santa
and finding out it was someone else .You thought that kid in Toy Story was funny in
a bunny costume ? Try a Tony The Tiger outfit (I was a huge Frosted Flakes Fan)Yep
That was me...But when I look back it wasn't all that bad .I'd give anything to be on
Grampa's lap watching Rollor Derby or Wrestling and getting gramps an Black Label
Beer out of the Fridge. Now for ME Lil Screamin~ it was all the TV specials !No season was complete without Charlie Brown,Frosty,Santa's comming to town.The one
with the HEAT MIESER. Rudolph the Red Nose Reighdeer was always a must.Some of those
special were pretty scary to a 5 year old . Got to thank Mom and Dad for doing a
great job with the childhood,no trama here for Dr.Phil. and My Sister,how I still love her . Once she talked me into getting in the family Dryer ,she said it would
be just like a ride at Cedar Point! Miss my Family Pet she was such a great dog .Would always jump on the bed to get me up Christmas Morning .When I was younger
you couldn't sleep if you tried ,now you can't get me up on time.How things change.
This Holiday Season ,Let's not let the PC Police Hijack Christmas.Remember to be Kind and Give this season. Let's not forget our troops who still are on the job
so we can enjoy the Holiday.Nomatter How you celebrate.....be respectful of others
of all cultures , and all you PC people resect mine,these are my memories of a time
gone bye ,and they were great times.You PC People , if you dont like my Holiday

Well , the holiday is in full bloom already been to some great shows ,and some
great parties. Last night was KOZFEST houseparty where some of detroits locals played ,great food (thankxz J.C.) and it got drunk out!Its a great house party when the cops show up........2 times .2nd time to announce the party was over.
Can you believe it will be December at the end of the week? Whew,this year has just blown bye eh? Just started X-mas shoppin ,a little at a time. This last min
shoppin every year gets me . People seem to be in a good mood so far(knock on wood)
I'm looking forward to more x-mas parties with friends and family.Check out the WRIF event page to keep up with all the parties in the area. Still hard to believe that i'm still cutting the grass at the house.
