FROM THE SCREAMIN NEWS DESK:
The Associated Press is reporting that POISON guitarist C.C. Deville was sentenced to 80 days in jail after pleading no contest to driving while intoxicated.
Deville, 43, whose real name is Bruce Johannesson, was also ordered by a Superior Court commissioner to serve five years probation, pay a $1,000 fine and surrender his license for a year, city prosecutors said Monday (Oct. 24).
Prosecutors say Deville hit a parked vehicle Aug. 24 while he was backing out of the driveway of his girlfriend's home. He allegedly rammed another parked car, deploying his vehicle's air bags and injuring his girlfriend.
Police later found him near his vehicle close to the scene of the second accident, prosecutors said.
He pleaded no contest last Friday to a charge of driving under the influence causing injury, authorities said.
Here come's GEORGE!
Legendary guitarist George Lynch (DOKKEN, LYNCH MOB) will be embarking on a solo tour in late November. Joining Lynch in his touring band will be vocalist Andrew Freeman, drummer Vinny Appice (BLACK SABBATH, DIO) and bassist Marten Andersson (LIZZY BORDEN, STARWOOD). The Detroit date is:
Dec. 10 - I-Rock - Detroit, MI
BLACK LABEL SOCIETY's version of "America the Beautiful", from the 2002 album '1919 Eternal' will be featured on a documentary entitled "Steel Pots, The History of America's Steel Combat Helmets". "Steel Pots" will be made available on DVD. A release date is still to be announced. More information can be found at ZakkWylde.com.
DROWNING POOL drummer Mike Luce has posted the following message regarding the band's recent happenings:
"As you may or may not know, DROWNING POOL is hard at work here in Dallas putting together the 'demos' for the next record — THE RECORD!
In case you're not privy to the process of 'demo-ing'... please, allow me. 'Demoing' is the process in which the band is rehearsing and putting together new music and recording said new material by a number of means. We hope you are understanding in that we want this to be our defining record! We, by no means, are dragging ass! But we are sure to take our time with each and every song! We enter a local Dallas/Denton studio, track new songs, then send copies of our new babies to the record label. By doing this you are able to keep all parties involved (in the album-making process) in the loop as to where the band/songs are musically. That being said, the band then is informed as to when they can expect to release a record.
HATEBREED ON TOUR!
