Thursday, April 26, 2007 NO MORE,"HAPPY HAUNTINGS." Good Bye SIR

"MMMMMMmmmwwahhhhhaahhhhhhhhhahhhhhhaahhhhhhaaahhhhh."

Lawson Deming, who was Detroit TV's Sir Graves Ghastly, this time for real-
passed away at his home in Ohio Tuesday night at the age of 93. 50 years
in Broadcasting ,and as Sir Graves from 1967-83.In this day of cheap production, and now,no real saturday entertainment for kids on saturday. He ran the best Godzilla
movies.Along with some real dry humor,He was a Channel 2 icon. Remember also
on the show "REEL McCoy (the guy that dug up the movies at the start of the show)
The upside mouth with a face painted on it "GLOB" and was funny seeing Sir Graves
in Drag was pretty wierd for a 7 year old like my self but always funny! Most of the time I never watched the films he ran also sent in art work to put up on the "ghastly
wall" but never did see it on tv.Life was different back then ......can you imagine
No internet ,cell phones ,DVD,I-Pods, Heck PONG wasn't even out then....
Just another part of the childhood that is gone and will be missed .This year's
Halloween will sure be different without you.........

Hey Scott! What a great memory, I used to watch Sir Graves just about every Saturday afternoon as a kid, The Mummy was a favorite...and my dad would scare the shit out of me every time while I watched his show, but I loved it! R.I.P. Sir Graves!

Take care Scott...
